Ecosystem within an Ecosystem...

Yes. The latest science seems to tell us that our bodies are elaborate ecosystems, composed of organs (which all work together in some biological symphony), as well as colonies of bacteria (think gut biome), which support us, keep us healthy and are often dueling or dancing around each other in a never-ending war with our immune systems. White blood cells, and bacteria (the good and the bad), contend for supremacy, work it all out amongst themselves in some choreographed tango or mambo.

Everything we take into our bodies has an effect and a counter-effect. Sure, that means everything we eat, every breath we take in via our mouths and noses, but it also means the sense data that enters us thru our skin, our eyes and our ears. All that sensory data pings our brains and we react accordingly.

We are what we eat, what we see, what we hear, what we think, how we act. And we do this all in a larger ecosystem outside of our bodies.

So yes, think of yourself as an ecosystem inside of a larger ecosystem; an ecosystem of other humans, animals, plants, etc. A community, a town, a state, a country, a planet, a solar system, a Universe.

It's all an elaborate system of cooperation. Ecosystems within Ecosystems. Maybe we need a re-think? Not so much contending with each other, but trying our best to live together.

Dear Pilgrim be careful what you put into yourself. There are substances that can sicken you, and kill you. This includes ideas and thoughts. Think of yourself as a thriving ecosystem.  Maybe that could be a new start, a new way of being, acting, thinking? Maybe?!
