Some how, some way I came across "Empty City - A Law & Polity Blog" - Commentary on law and policy from D A Green on Substack. Empty City often goes into the weeds on issues, but it does in such a fluid, clear-headed and easy to read manner, you just feel smarter as you go.
This latest post on how the Trump Adminstration's "Shock & Awe" in especially litigation & economics, has turned out to be "Shockingly Aweful," is brilliant.
I love the idea, that there is no great strategy when it comes to Trump & Co. No, it is all bullying & intimidating. Demonising and Monstering.
Once you realize that, Trump & Co. are diminished. They really are flailing, stomping around, trying to scare people. But like all bullies, they are puffed up with bullshit, bluffing, over-amped language, hollow arguments, straw-man enemies. Push past the hate and idiocy and there is nothing left. Hollow, empty, bodies filled with bile, unhappiness and crud.
They can be defeated with some smarts, with some strategy, with some intelligent, diligent pushback.
That's where we are at the moment. Pushing back on the idiotic Demonisng and Monstering. Sure, it takes a bit of courage to stand up to bullies. But, really, it is essential for all of us to do so. We need be brave, and willing to call out and defeat this B.S.
