I was feeling a bit down, lost & lethargic.
The outrageous shit-show emanating from D.C. is unrelenting. The constant stream of lies is totally depleting.
Plus, my days have been filled with to-ing & fro-ing. Lots of schlepping.
What's a Humble Pilgrim to do?
I turned to a chocolate bar. Yes. One very large, delicious Milk Chocolate, Hazelnut, confection. I ate the whole damn thing. It was totally satisfying & great. I mean, I felt a bit guilty, but, you know, it was so good.
I am usually quite disciplined. Eating healthy. But like Oscar Wilde, "I can resist everything, except temptation..."
I also kicked back, put on my Grado headphones & listened to Wilco's two CD live set: "Kicking Television: Live in Chicago." 2005
What an exhilarating & inspiring ride. You want to "understand" this band? Listen to this fabulous live set. Wilco at it's finest. Playing a wide range of material. Thrilling.
Anyway. Heavy medicine. You may scoff & ask: Chocolate & Music? Really? That works?
I must answer, yes, indeed, it works. Feeling renewed & refreshed this morning. Now, I wonder to myself, what new fuckery is in store today? Feeling re-charged, fortified, ready to face the day.
