Over here in our hidey-hole we are firmly against it. We are hunkering down, hoping it will run thru it's ugly course, and then some kind of rebuild, reboot will be in the cards. Paraphrasing Dylan, we are "praying the pieces won't fall on us." Sure, we are calling our Reps, writing emails, ready & willing to protest at a drop of the hat, but really, we are just little drops in the ocean. Right now that ocean is a roiling mass of hurly-burly.
Who is in charge? Are there any sensible, responsible people left? Is all the power pointed to destruction? Can anyone stop the madness? Those kinds of questions hang in the air. Pretty sure there is no saviour waiting in the wings. It's just us. The job of righting the wrongs is left up to us, the little, common folks. You know the people who get pushed around? We do a lot of running to & fro, hoping the sky doesn't fall on us.
We didn't elect Kings. This shouldn't be happening. But of course, weird, unexpected things happen all the time. Welcome to the World. How bad will it get? That is a running game in our heads. Maybe it has to get so bad everyone feels it? Then, maybe enough of the little, common ones wake up, band together, and throw off the tyranny of the 2 Mad Kings?
We've seen that kind of thing happen in History. It's a familiar theme, the rich & powerful ones get so rich and powerful, they get cocky, too full of themselves, so convinced that they have conquered gravity, common sense & truth. And then the reckoning comes. As Jimmy Cliff sang: "The Harder They Come, The Harder They Fall, one and all..."
The organized protest* starts in the homes, the streets, the town squares, and boils & bubbles across the land.
That's a nice scenario right there...

What if the common ones could join together as one voice? We could change the world.
