Core Beliefs...

You know, recent events (cataclysmic & not so cataclysmic) throw us back on core beliefs. I do believe in believing, (one of our band''s oldest original songs is called "You Must Believe"), but believing is a tricky thing, just as tricky as being human. A human being with a head full of beliefs is a tricky entity x infinity.

Much delight, and much mayhem can result from a head-strong human being full of "truths." Believing is a double-edged (or maybe multi-edged) sword.

We must choose our beliefs carefully. Look to evidence, proof, facts, data, "veracity."   Be open to "changing your mind," when what you believe doesn't match up with "what is..." Always be on the lookout for what is "really real."

Humans = Lot ideas, lots of questions, few answers.

What are the core tools we can rely upon? Our senses five, plus a basic belief in Hope, Meaning, Imagination.

Believing that Life is Good, that Love is better than Hate. But never forget Love and Hate are always contending.

Believe in happiness, grace, responsibility, community, caring, music, laughter, poetry, literature, art, scientific method, purpose, common sense, common good, evolution, intelligence, empathy, compassion, the good work, discipline, a better day.

What is our mission? To live, to love, to create, to connect, to leave the world a better, sunnier, happier, place... I mean, if we can... you know we must always be aspirational... but humble too...

Believe in something that engages you fully. Live life with meaning. Lean to the light, lean to Love.
