The Real Thing...

Folk #1: Working on a new song, one line in the last verse: "Find the Truth inside the Real."  I think it's an essential imperative, which is imperiled in our present circumstances. Too many people recoiling from the real, afraid of the real, in denial of the real. The real happens to be our best teacher; no doubt, the real is a hard-grader, no-nonsense, impossible to bargain with. You have to step up, and get your head around the real. So much of our present unhinged culture is about denying & trying to escape the consequences of the real. It's a fool's game. Sure, one has to adjust, change, morph, evolve, improvise, & deal with adversity, you must admit to yourself that not everything is about you. You aren't a fully-functioning, fully-realized human being if you don't come to terms with the real. The lessons & demands of the real are hard & true. A life honed, shaped, bounded by the real is the real thing.
