Graceful Exit?!

You think, well maybe in this case, the guy will do the right thing. Just make a graceful exit. Wish everyone the best, and move on with dignity.

Then you think, well, that's not how it usually goes. Usually the guy goes kicking and screaming. Clinging to their last tattered shred of dignity like a dog protecting a bone.

Or he brings down the Iron Fist and crushes those calling for peace and calm.

When it comes to power and status, people don't like to step down lightly. And instead of doing "the right thing," they end up doing what ever they can get away with.

It's not a pretty picture of the human kind.
