Matching a massacre with a massacre seems like a murderous madness that will just make a terrible & horrible situation that much more terrible and horrible. The logic of war, the logic of revenge, the cycle of violence, it all rolls out with a deadly inevitability. It's not controversial to point out that
"everyone has their reasons," but those reasons are often faulty, flawed and death-dealing. Unfortunately, this kind of murderous, nihilistic violence is not novel. It's built into the history of Humanity.
Humanity's Inhumanity to Humanity. It's a recurring theme.
