The Unbearable Lightness of Coolness!

Since I've been on the planet, (I've been on the planet since TV was black & white, and transistor radios were "the thing"), I've always wanted to be "cool:"  The best way to say something is neat-o, awesome, or swell. The phrase "cool" is very relaxed, never goes out of style, and people will never laugh at you for using it, very convenient for people like me who don't care about what's "in."

Being cool is essential. A vocation. A mission.  Since I've been on the planet, the Liberals/Progressives have been winning the "Culture War," even as the Conservatives, the Retrograde Forces of Backwardness, have a stranglehold on our Politics.

It makes for a whiplash kind of existence. The constant pull from cool to not cool. 

What is Cool has stayed pretty consistent over time...
