Hackneyed, Banal, Commonplace, Trivial, Threadbare - Oh Yeah and True!

So yeah, maybe that's the dirty little secret.  All the great little pearls of wisdom we are searching for, are really just little homely, brain-numbing, invisible-in-plain-sight "trite expressions" that just make us yawn... stuff that can be found on bumper stickers and birthday cards... total dreck...  

"This is the first day of the rest of your life." 
"One day at a time." 
"Live in the moment."  
"Be here, now."

But then, just because these words are so plain and seemingly empty, doesn't mean they aren't true.  Maybe they are so yawn-inducing and mind-fogging because they are true. And they are the types of expressions you can use to live. You can actually base your life on such simple dreck!
